visual diary: lincoln’s first apple pick Over the weekend we visited Jeter Mountain Farms for one of my favorite fall activities: apple picking! We also celebrated my moms 60th birthday. Sometimes it’s the simple trips that mean the most. It was amazing to watch her apple pick with her grandson like we did when I was a child. There’s nothing like the smell of an apple orchard in the fall. The combination of grass, fall leaves, and the earthy smell of apples that have fallen from the tree is something that’s been stuck in my memories since I was a child. After picking apples, we stopped in the cafe to enjoy some hard cider, apple cider donuts, and a bit of shopping. It was an amazing day to spend with my son and my family. I hope that these memories will stick with him for years to come, and that he’ll feel called back to the mountains to create experiences like this with his own children.
